Step 1 - sketch in figures and text including Trump tweet

                               "Ancient Relevance”
                           acrylic on canvas 30”H X 30” W

Step 2 - paint over - erase Trump's tweet. Later also made changes to text  leaving just "Ancient Relevance"

"Ancient Relevance"

“Ancient Relevance” based on the piece “Trilogy” from the art series “Figuratively Speaking”
Oil pastel and marker on paper
13.5” H X 17” W

I drew the sketch of the figures and added words to the piece.
I wrote… natural splendor  cooperation intrinsic value … on the top of the painting.
I wrote…deep ecology  holistic view  ancient relevance … on the bottom of the painting.
I wrote a Trump tweet across the middle “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes.
Blood coming out of her - wherever.”
I then painted over the Trump tweet.
I also rethought the added words to the piece and decided to just put “Ancient Relevance.”
To me the piece has an indigenous feel and the movement speaks of a sense of unity.
I like the term ancient relevance because we can learn so much from the indigenous peoples of the earth.
